Many of us long to make the world a better place, yet the demands of daily life and the relentless news cycle can overwhelm us, leading to feelings of isolation and limitation. To engage with courage and compassion, we need to cultivate inner resources that allow us to confront suffering—both within ourselves and in the world. Many believe that an open heart makes us vulnerable to burnout or being taken advantage of, but true compassion, supported by healthy boundaries, is an active and empowering force. It enables us to empathize without becoming enmeshed in others' suffering, allowing us to support healing and positive change with a “soft heart and strong back,” remaining open yet grounded and resilient.
In this one-day workshop, we will grow our heart’s capacity to give and receive love, nourishment, joy, and effective care. This is a reciprocal process, allowing us to remain resourced while we extend our care to others. Through experiential exercises and guided meditations, we will engage in compassion practice and learn the skills of attunement, grounding, co-regulation, recognizing triggers, healthy boundaries, and relational attunement.
This is a workshop to empower us to unfetter our hearts and activate our gifts for the benefit of self and others.
Come play, dance, engage in dialogue, and bask in a day of self-care and capacity building. No experience necessary. All abilities, ages, and identities are welcome. Dress comfortably and relaxed for meditation and movement. You are invited to bring an object to co-create a group altar.
